I wanted one originally then heard the can have an attitude. So I stayed away. I have a bigger tank now and I see they in mixed tank all the time and I know so many people have them.. Are they too aggressive for a mixed reef tank with a hawk, Midas blenny , Mandarin, clown, pajama Cardinal and yellow tang and YWG ?

Ha mine was a terror he was even so mean when I walked by the tank he would get tick ed. I have read good things about em though so not everyone is that bad. But there are Def some horror stories

I think you'd be ok with that fish list cause most of those fish can hold their own, with exception of the mandarin. They can be pretty territorial towords other peaceful wrasses and docile fish though. I'd still add it last.

Both of mine I've owned are model citizens and keep to them selfs. First one jumped out of the tank after 6 months. Second one jumped out after 8 years. Thinking about adding another one.

And its stories like this that make me think twice! Do you think the bad behavior would be obvious if I observed in the store for a while?

If you feed a good amount daily you should be fine. If your a light feeder (like myself) they tend to become aggressive and beat up on tank mates especially ones with an eel like swim pattern. So your Midas Benny would probably be his first target. But again if your a heavier feeder I say go for it.

The smaller the tank the more issues is my experience. Keep in mind though this fish is a nightmare to catch and remove, and it will compete with the Mandarin for food.

Ok, I think I made my decision!.. Not worth it! Thanks!

They are both beautiful . I am bummed my current tanks are too small because these guys are full of energy and personality. Fun to watch em

Don't take the chance, you see people talk about them being model citizens but that's like reading that seahorses can't live with an octopus, then when someone says they pulled it off you think it's a good idea. do NOT get a six line, I made that mistake. I can see why you'd want one, I personally love the eyes, mine will be residing in my frag tank when I set it up

Mine is very peaceful and goes well with all the fishes

yes i have 2 other wrasses and getting 2 more soon...
