60g Cube

Yes, running a radion. Got the clowns from clown depot.

Awesome build! I'm thinking of upgrading to this tank, thanks for the thread, would love to see more setup shots!

GL with the tank, looks great!

Ok, I have been running the sea side aquatics skimmer since a started the tank. I can say that its quiet and has no issues. This would be great for small sumps and runs well in 8 to 10 inches of water. In true mojo fashion I swapped it out to try something else. Now I have had the Warner marine mf 121 before. So this isn't all new to me. So I fired it up and we see how it does. I like the sea side skimmer. Great pump, easy to replace if ever needed to and it works. My tank is cycling and I hope to get some updated pics a soon a things clear up a little.

yes its an aussie.

I have been debating on what other skimmers I can try out.
I am more challenged on this little guy. I have the sea side cs 5.5 and the wm mf 121. The SSA 5.5 is a great skimmer. ITs more quiet than the WM but I would say the WM cycles just slightly more water. Both work very well on this tank. OTher I am considering is the Tunze 9006 or 9011, maybe going old school, bermuda bps 3c or a etss sumpbuddy 40. but modding them out with a psk 600 pump and not using the injector. Just some thoughts. Or maybe building something like the old square deltecs. I am not sure. I dont have the use of a lathe or mill anymore so making something will be harder for me. we will see.

Other than that all is going well. I have a few tweaks to make to the water change setup. but it is working nice so far but I can make it better.

Thanks for the compliments.

I did make a small equipment change. I replaced the the octo turbine 2000 pump with the marineland 3000 pump. The 2000 did well but with the taller stand and tank I was looking at about 5ft head. IT worked fine but I wanted just a littler more flow through the tank and sump. The 3000 was my second choice but I found such a good price on it it became my first choice. I was going to get a ehiem 1260 but I am kind of glad I didnt because too much flow on this tank can cause some noise for sure. So all in all it has been a good swap. and I now have a backup pump. I really like the octo turbine pumps. for the money they are quiet and work well. I probably gain about an extra 100gph through my sump. seems pretty good for now.

Mojo, quick question about your 60g plumbing. In the overflow, there are 2 holes ... is the drain or return the top hole?
I just bought one of these today & it appears that I have the drain low, with the elbow installed, and the return high, with nothing installed - no elbow, no loc-line, etc.
What's yours like?
Thanks

The drain is on top. Return on the bottom. You could probably ruin it either way but I would do drain on top

The Radions are really nice. great spread even at 4 inches

Hey Mojo, are you happy with the flow from the MP10's? I have a 24'' cube with an 1.5'' drain in the upper left corner. I'm currently running 2 modded 6025's which push some decent flow with both positioned off the back glass, however, the coral location on the rockwork (which will be all SPS), will not get significant flow since these pumps are blasting off the front glass in a streamed fashion. Postioning these pumps on the side, in my opinion, would be too much direct flow. I'm considering either 2 MP10's or 1 MP40 (on the back glass) due to the Vortechs ability to create the "undertow" with pulling the water back to the pump as well as the broad flow pattern out the nozzle . Any thoughts for my situation? These cubes create a unique situation for achieving adequate flow.

2 mp10s in the cube are great. you might be able to get away with one actually.

Side not I took the 60 down and sold it. Just too much for me with my schedule. I put everything into a 29g biocube. ITs a new coralife style. PIcs on that to come intehre own thread.
