Got the Marco rocks. Really happy with the selection.

Playing with rocks-scaping. Sand is on the way.

Light arrived. 36" odyssea t5 fixture.
I have a couple led textures I will add to the setup, but they would not have been enough on their own.

Fish room / utility room construction has begun

The wall has come down and I started to construct the tank shelf. More updates on the way... I hope to have the stand and new walls completed in the next week or so.

Cool! Like the rock!

Thanks. I have got some new livestock, too. Can't wait to have this tank running.

Sump and refugium planning. Advice please!

I was planing on using a 20 long I have as the sump, but decided to pick up a 29 gallon as well. I'd like to use the 29 as a fuge and put a few fish and cleaner shrimp in there. My idea is to drain into the 29 with a filter sock, and have the 29 gravity feed to the 20 long where I will have the skimmer, return pump, ato and reactors.

Any thoughts on this approach? I am on the fence and am tempted to just setup without a refugium. I am still deciding whether I should order the additional bulkheads and drill the 29.

Rockscaping

Decided to go with as much height as possible with the dry rock since I can epoxy everything in place. I have few live rocks in my other tanks that I will stack up around the Marco rock formations and add some mass to the towers.

Rockscaping coming together. The sand is only 1.5 inches deep so I ordered another 40# of Marco sand and a few more rocks.

I like it!

The elusive and territorial Regal Damoiselle (or whatever it is called. I just liked it when a saw it in the store)

Did you place this tank in a wall!!

Yep. Tank will be pretty much flush with the wall. Walls are framed out, but I have not gotten a chance to put the paneling up yet. I should get to that this weekend. I'll post pics soon.

If you are referring to the tank with the cat in front of it. No.

That tank is only 4.5 inches deep. A real PITA to maintain, but it looks great.

Added another batch of Marco sand. I did not clean it as much as the last batch, and you can tell the difference. Looked like this for a day or two.
