Added another batch of Marco sand. I did not clean it as much as the last batch, and you can tell the difference. Looked like this for a day or two.

Some life in the sump helped clear the sediment more quickly. Also added some of that instant cycle stuff.

do you think two 150 w heaters is enough for this setup? water seems to be holding at 78 right now, but I can't get it any warmer. I wonder if my basement is too cold, it is record low temps right now.

I think that should be. Ok. 2 lower wattage is better then 2 high wattage. If one breaks and over heats it won't be too hot because if low wattage

This is great..I have nearly the same setup....65gal tall with 29 long sump, Marco Rocks...built into wall...coming along slowly, but progressing.

Just noticed that you have been following my (slow) build. Glad to see you went with Marco Rocks! They are super sweet looking. I like how you set yours up too.

Yeah. I got the 65 and was researching a build and what luck! There you were with a similar build! I knew nothing about Marco rocks til I saw your thread. Thanks for the idea

No problem. You are welcome. My brother in Boston had them in his tank and I thought they were awesome. They didn't look like blobs of cement like so many others.

ATO for for ~$20

Upgrading the ATO reservoir from a 2.5 gallon to a 5 gallon bucket. went through almost 2 gallons today. Seems like a lot of evaporation for one day. I'm wondering if I need to put a top on the DT.

Going to dose calcium carbonate to get the alk up. And dose calc as the alk goes up.

Am I on the right track here?
