I think it should be good over time. The silicone actually looks good in the area it's leaking. Right now there is no water in the overflow, once it is full the pressures will somewhat equalize between the two.
I have the 50 lbs of BRS and the rock from my 30 with corals all over it. The BRS rock is currently just in a big clump. Any ideas on how to stack these rock up? Is epoxy my only option? Or is there something more creative I could do. I though about drilling holes and using zip ties. Also, possibly a PVC skeleton of some kind and then attaching rock to that via drilling and zip ties.
The BRS Aquascaping series of videos seem pretty informative. Most of this stuff is stuff you already know, but for me it was nice to see someone actually do it.
Built 3 pillars, letting the epoxy cure. In an hour I'll put it into the tank and then epoxy on larger rocks on top of the pillars. Hope this stuff holds well.
Some of the epoxy didn't cure. Not sure why. I've moved the columns around a bit and added the large rock on top. The movement clouded the water back up. I'll take a pic when it settles out. Still making salt water.
Had the same problem with our Marineland 60 cube. Water from the bottom inlet ran through the overflow and couldn't get enough flow to go over the top without overpowering the drain. Still no answer without taking the rock out and closing off the bottom inlet.
