The tonga rock is three pieces welded together. Tricky stuff to work with I probably won't use it on my next project , but is an excellent medium for a tall tank.

There were certain unique challenges that had to be overcome due to the dimensions the tank 24x24x30 and the fact that I wanted a sps dominant tank .

I thought in the beginning 1 radion gen 1 and a mp10 would suffice, this was nowhere near enough flow or lighting , so I added a mp40 to the back of the tank and moved the mp10 to the left side of the tank with the return pointed to the right side of the tank . Both mp's are on short pulse mode running on fusion . Lighting upgrades would come later.

Another problem I ran into was evaporation and had a serious need for an ATO . I Plumbed the ro unit to the water supply and ran it through the ceiling to a 10 gallon resovior . I wish I had planned this one from the beginning so the ro line and valve were plumbed straight into the sump instead of having a resovior it would have saved $200 lol lesson learned.

I currently run thru 28ml of alk a day keeps it around 8.4 dkh and 40ml of calcium and it hovers at around 460. I run 6 ml of reef plus a day and 8 ml of acropower. Dosing pumps run hourly to keep things somewhat consistent. Chems are adjusted once a month

I run the radion for 10hr with max of 70 % on lunar cycle and tir lenses , the back t5 runs for 5hr and the front t5 runs for 4hr , both have true atanic and aqua blu special bulbs .

This is a great tank.

Has anyoune had your ecotech battery backup up smoke and dump battery acid on the floor ? Mine did a month ago ...thank god ot was outside of my tank. I would suggest to everone who has one over there sump to put it on the outside of the tank. Ecotech was unwilling to do anything about it since it was out of warranty. ....

Wow... nice tank! That monti crawling up your overflow is super cool.

Any shadowing problems with the lighting so far on such a deep tank?
