75ppm Nitrates

Ok heres the high range test. With 1ml of tank water and 15ml of RODI.

So when looking at it in person, which matches best on the high card?

On my screen it looks like it is between 16 and 32 ppm.

that looks like 4 to me also...

FYI, checked against 3 other screens all different res.

I'd put it on the high range card and see how the colors compare on that one before deciding. it looks darker than 4 to me. :)
Randy quick question for you. I thought about this when I was testing a friends water the other day. Is it necessary to rerun the test or could you simply take 1ml of alteady

no real gamer would play on those monitors 75 hz = whack :(
who said I played, I shadow on those!
so I can see you coming no-mapped games... gezz

I'l leave to color estimating to you guys.

Some online color distinction test my daughters had the family take said I had the eyes of a mole. :D

Love color wheels, so now I am convinced it's between 4 and 32.

If it's above 4, I have come to like salifert instead. But what makes any of these tests reliable is consistently using them so that you can hopefully train your eye. I have both Red Sea pro and salifert for nitrates and have been using the salifert more recently

This whole discussion begs the question, why no Hanna colorimeter for nitrate. Their alkalinity test reads green, their ulr phosphorous reads basically clear water so why not nitrate and pink/red reading

Test and the look of your tank will say a lot about testing.
Sometimes my No3 says 4.0 but my tanks says 2.0, now if my tank tells me 12.0 and the test tells me 2.0 than I call up the whole drum-line and test my three No3 test kits + both Po4 kits to make sure my eagle eye are not cheating on my.
All I'm saying here is that your tank will tell you a lot when you walk into the room.

So i did my weekly WC day before yesterday, 10g. How much should i change today?
I would do some smaller WC till you hit the number you are looking for and afterwards return back to your normal WC routine.

Actually, your Nitrates at 0.75 is really good!!!!

Generally, if your Nitrates are < 10, then you're good to go !!!!!!!!!!!!

The OP thought he was at 75........... that became through some top-notch research work by our Elite Reef Squad for the day @twilliard, @143MPCo, @kschweer and @Randy Holmes-Farley close to 0.75 and due to some define work from the same four musketeers 4.0 PPM give and take.
0.75 isn't that great if you have corals as you will starve them long term.
