UPDATE and a question about lighting.

First is some additions to the reef!!

Question: I am wondering if the frogspawn and the torch should be open more than they are? They have both been in for about two to three days.

My alk is about 8.4, Ca - 375, mg 1480 as of yesterday.

Here is my lighting below. Thoughts?

Frogspawn looks good to me, torch maybe should be a little more open but it's hard to tell.

Torch looks like a Tonga to me. Shouldn’t open much more than that if it is. As for lighting, I’d likely reduce the whites a little. Frogspawn/octo looks nice. Very clean build by the way. First time seeing it

After looking at the frog. It actually does open more than that. Maybe a shrimp hit it. Lol

I put the cw to 10% , 15% , 10% then 5% then out.

Sorry guys, it has been a bit for an update. I have run into a couple of issues with some birds nest corals dying and some not looking so hot.

Getting back on track from an alk spike.

I broke that tank down since. I liked it. For the most part just understand that it’s a shallow tank and that comes with things you need to consider.

I tried gyres on this tank and could never really get them going without the sand kicking up.

I went to a jebao sw8 pair and still kept them dialed down to 75-80% and aimed. But still had sand moved into piles. I would have gone bare bottom to have lots of sps

also, I highly recommend running a herbie drain style. And drill your return into the back. I had mine going over the top and it never fit with the sleek look of this tank.

before you drill, make sure it’s not tempered glass. I had this tank but it was made by Seapora here in Canada. Deep Blue versions could be tempered glass. Best to know for sure.

please keep me posted. I would love to see this progress of you do go this route.

Your feedback helps a lot! So I have a 20g petco tank with a 10g sump petco tank and I'm thinking to upgrade to a similar tank as yours, it will be drilled and most likely have a closed loop system for flow. Here's what my current setup looks like now so you know where I'm coming from and what my build style is about.
