I started with a 10 gallon that I had for a year, moved up to a 40breeder for a few years with a cpr backpack skimmer and a power filter, and a 250w halide pendant.

Than I got a 65gallon for 2 years with a prestige gamma (wich is up for sale) and sump.(love the simplicity because it hides everything.)

Than I upgraded to a 80 gallon deep blue edge rimless tank. I've lost a few items in the transition but I'm hope in for the best. I custom made my new stand out of 2x's and ceramic tile.

Nice looking tank. How do you like the 80 DB rimless? I just bought the same exact tank a month ago and can't wait to get it going. What lighting are you running?

I love the tank. I ordered it, got it, was nervous that it was to short on height, but after I got everything in it, I realized I made the right choice. I'm using a fixture with 2 x 250w halide and 4 t5's. I used LEDs for a few years and I just want getting the growth that j used to get from halides. I also used a t5 led hybrid (prestige gamma led hybrid, still 4 sale) fixture and it did good on growth and had all the fancy features of dusk to dawn but it still didn't grow as fast as the halides. I'm all about getting my coral to fill up my tank and than making frags.

I want to do a t-5 led hybrid. ATI powermodule just a tad expensive. Might do one of the ATI 6 or 8 bulb dimmable t5 and do the reefbrite mod on it.

I have a prestige gamma 36" with 4 t5s and a 36" reef brite xho 50/50 if ur interested?

2 new fish today

A Randall goby and pistol shrimp

And a yellow longnose butterfly, my wife seen him and said he's coming home with us, and he's already eating pellets.

Great job!

Really nice tank. Now that you have the tank for awhile his do you like it? Looking to get one in the next couple of months.

I love it, everything about it. I think it's the perfect depth, waiting for corals to grow out and fill in. When setting it up I really liked the bulkhead fittings through the overflow. They have the pipe barb on them so u don't have to mess with getting all the fittings to put it all together like past aquariums I've had. Simple and easy.

That's nice on the plumbing. Is the over flow loud? Also, what return pump are you using?

I have the lifeguard quiet one 2200. I've used it for like 4 years without any issue. The overflow just takes some adjustment and playing with and u can get it pretty quiet.

I reeeeallly like the DB 80. I think the next move will be one of these. Good space and no wet arm pits! Sweet!
