Pretty sure my tuxedo urchin is spawning! Anyone else know for sure either way if that’s what we’re seeing here?

Yup, and if you had any others in the tank it usually signals them to spawn as well

I believe they're both just different strains of Mespilia globulus so they should be able to reproduce together. They typically spawn with slight chemical changes, moon cycles, or temperature changes but you don't really know if you have a male or female until they start spawning. The females spawning look pretty similar to males except that gametes are slightly larger looking.

Typically in reef tanks you won't get fertilized gametes because everything eats it or they get taken up by filtration but many people spawn them in a seperate container to collect and combine for a higher success rate.
