Whew...its been a minute since I updated my build thread. I have since upgraded my power strips to a reef keeper lite, then an elite...
Now I have 1 pc4 controlling waves. One pc4 controls the sky, which is lighting and fans (wind and sun). Then the 3rd pc4 goes down in the basement controlling my return, skimmer, fuge ligt, and the light to my basement incase I forget to flip the switch. It was an extra plug, I couldn't resist.

I'm going to add a couple more pc4s, one to my water station (another upgrade) and one to a nano I am cycling and haven't got around to posting. I may add yet another one if I decide i want to dose things, ill be trying kalk in my ATO first.

The cyano experiment is working well, and my corals are getting bigger with the exception of my open brain...rock fell on it. It wouldn't get out of the way when I was yelling at it.

I have yet to do anything to hide the lighting or the bottom of the stand and my fish room has a broken mirror on the floor that I am afraid to look at.

So here are some technical changes I made

Waves: used to not have em!
The pumps are arranged from L-R. They each have their own timer @ 10,13,28,59 second bursts. So they are always coming on in a different order, my pulsing plague Xenia i rescued from my woman's tank crash is pulsing like there's no tomorrow and her star plague is spreading too fast...the wrong direction. Haha. I'll just flip the rock or something and maybe it will reverse.

Today I'm selling off my ricordias finally. I have had it with their purple color. Its a cool coral as it goes from a massive bubble blob into a marshmallow at night. I want something crazier though. Something big

I'm considering putting a frag tank inline with my system. Only reason: heat. My fish room is an in heated/cooled porch so If It is part of my already stable system, it won't have the climate issue.

All I am using is a 30 gallon hydroponic tray with a hole in it. Shallow and easy to light too.

Note to R2R- its been a really long time since I had to set up a hospital tank. My last experience, a 125, was not so smooth. I am so glad to have been guided throughout my development as a reefer. Thanks r2r. My fish are too hard to catch anyway. I'm so glad they are healthy enough not to have to.
To be honest, ich is about the only disease I completely remember anything about! I haven't had to deal with parasites on fish, malnutrition, or even aggression issues because of the knowledge learned on here. I have got the whole "oh I can rescue it" mentality completely gone, as that has caused way too many problems in the past. As for corals, I don't get stuff that isn't fully grown to whatever it is stuck to, and if possible I actually remove it from the plug during quarantine and/or smother the plug in super glue gel to kill anything this isn't coral. Small tips like these can prevent things like aptasia from reeking havoc on your system. Ever try to rid a 6 foot tank o aptasia? Not easy!

Here's a few coral shots, my favorites. They're all growing nicely. The last shot is just a rock I've been monitoring for the cyano experiment.

Sand still a little dusted in diatoms though, so in gonna play with the lighting on the filter once more. Maybe throw a mix down there?

Sump:
I still use the skimmer, just because it makes great rose food when watered down.

There are a couple frags in with the rock:
2 types of acan lords, a zoa frag, and 2 unknown paly frags of the same species. They are the specs of rubble in the sand. Growing well under fuge light. There is also a stunted wa of chaeto. I could sell it for $3 or keep it for my pods to be easily caught. I'll go with keep it

But...this tank is getting replaced...is replaced...the coolest tank in the state is now in my fish room awaiting build day. 2x5 foot shallow rimless all starfire glass, even the bottom and overflow. Oh no. I said too much.

I see a lot of Asterina Starfish in your tank. Do you have any problems with them eating zoas and coraline?

Never had a single zoa eaten, they stick to the glass and rocks, going after diatoms. At night I can count hundreds.

I've had the camouflage ones set them up but I quickly disemboweled them and tossed em in the trash
