Yup, and color has improved a bit. I thought its a brown mantle clam. Actually its a mixture of brown, purple and grey

We are blessed with rich ocean around the state, all 7 species of giant clams are found here. We even have several hatchling facilities that releases all hatchling back into the wild. Collecting wild clams for aquarium requires special permit. You won't believe seeing giant clams during low tide, occasionally completely exposed. I have yet to see a juvenile clams, but I have seen bigger than 10" giant clam at lowest tide (december and early january).

I am jealous! I would love to see the clams that large at low tide. Maybe you could post a video sometime. That would be awesome to see!
