A clam to complete my reef tank

I do use magnifying glass to inspect my clam mostly for pyramid snail and snail eggs, then I brushed the whole outer shell before I place it in my tank. Of course there are thing you can't see even under our normal magnifying glass like Aiptasia, tube worm, tiny feather duster worm hid under deep scutes but those thing don't kill my clams

No joke, this guy is covered with tiny little tubes and sponges. Make me a little worry, hence the brushing. Usually I don't clean up anything I bought from this store, this time I don't give a dang!.

That's awesome, I've yet to see anyone carry a large Squamosa like that at a LFS. When it grows, it'll be a grand centerpiece of the tank.

We are blessed with rich ocean around the state, all 7 species of giant clams are found here. We even have several hatchling facilities that releases all hatchling back into the wild. Collecting wild clams for aquarium requires special permit. You won't believe seeing giant clams during low tide, occasionally completely exposed. I have yet to see a juvenile clams, but I have seen bigger than 10" giant clam at lowest tide (december and early january).

Donovan, a fantastic tank. What is that blue coral left of the clam?
I cannot get acros to grow like that. Are you at zero phos, nitrate? Ph, kh, Mg, Ca?
Really jealous but only thirty months in. A Benny a month, haha

It's a donut LPS coral. I seldom test for no3/po4 (don't really recall about po4, the lowest i can test is 0.1ppm on sera test kit, but using API test kit is slightly darker yellow than zero. No3 should be less than 5ppm). I don't test ph (unless something wrong), kh around 8.5 to 9.0, 1400++ mg and 420++ ca.

Lights - homemade DIY full spectrum non-dimming, 3-channels arduino control. 1st channel from 7am till 7pm, 2nd channel 8am till 6pm, 3rd channel 10am till 3pm.

I don't know their scientific name. Largest blue stags (teal actually) is next to my crayola acro. I have another two stags (orange and brown). The only named acros I have are SSC, Pikachu, Red Dragon and Green Slimer.

30 pieces clam gone within 3 hours, mostly went to neighbouring states . Very high demand especially nicely colored one.

Nice collection bro! I heard keeping maxima is more challenging than crocea or squamosa. You need high par lighting if not mistaken

Keen to add some more if there is a nice one .. cant get enough lol.. not that hard actually.. i just let them there.. i like maximas mantle more than any other clams .. yeah pretty light hungry ..cant get enough for them .. i keep them direct under radions and t5..
