A couple from the top side

simply amazing! Defiantly tank of the month worthy. I still cant get over how big that clam is:dribble:

Thank you,The clam is beginning to be a nuisance. This thing squirts water clear out of the tank, spawns a milky fountain that turns the tank white twice a year, moves and knocks over corals ,etc... but so many love it I cant bring myself to get rid of it.Its truly too large for a 180.I have had it for 15 years, since it was about 4 inches.its now about 18 inches.

Next R2R TOTM, look at the size of that clam!!!! 15yrs nice!!!! How long have you had this tank up for?

This tank is an inspiration. I just need to get stable enough to allow a true grow-out. It seems like every couple of years I move and that just disrupts everything. Hopefully in about another year and a half I will be buying a home, then look out!

The clam is simply amazing!

Wow Wow, this tank is sick! ROTM!

Can you give detail on current nutrient level and nutrient export/import methods?

The 180 is about 10 years old and all animals were transfered from the previous 125 which was up for about 6 years

Yea this is a problem. So many things can happen to disrupt the stability and it takes years to get it back.GL

Thanks,Its really turned into a keeper.Really was an ugly duckling at the start

Phos .03 or less and nitrate .3 or less

export method : aggressive wet skimming and clean skimmer often, large water changes weekly,GFO changed every 3 to 4 weeks, run 100 micron filter bags and change twice a week

TOTM material for sure man..

Thanks

I am pretty religious with maintenance.Like I said on the above post,I do a few hours of maintenance weekly.I think observing each of your corals daily to notice positive or negative changes is a biggie.

very nice tank. the health looks amazing. mind if i ask what lighting you run? thanks for sharing
