Yea, I was always worried it could happen after reading a few posts on the internet. Well, guess it was a good thing since I always wanted a bigger tank lol

I didn't see this until now. I have three XR15 and two MP40 on our Red Sea Reefer 450. I'd love to get a Nyos protein skimmer.
I went with 2 XR30 pro since mine is only 4' long. I might add a couple T5 in the future. Got 1 MP40 that I am planning to place on the back glass and thinking about getting a Gyre150 for the side

Yeah I think we would have done that two but we had one XR15 from our 170 we took down so we got two more. Though I seen someone with two XR30 and a XR15.

I think for my next build we may go with Gyre. I like the design. Wish they make one that is half the size, I know the smaller one can have one side removed and capped. Not sure why they don't sell it like this and if someone wants to get the full they can buy the other side. $200+ to put it in a shallow tank doesn't make sense.

I was also thinking about adding a Gyre rather than having 2 MP40's facing each other. Maybe I should go with 130, place it on the side and have my mp40 placed on the back glass
(Have only ordered 1 mp40)

Looking forward to the build Brian although now I'm in panic mode since I have the JBJ 45. Keeping fingers crossed.

I need to hit the lotto or something this hobby is no joke!

All you can do for now is to make sure your tank is perfectly leveled and cross your fingers. Yes indeed, this hobby is really making me go broke.

Set it up!!! LOL!

Struggling with plumbing :(
Can't find a way of connecting my plumbing to the red sea return pipe. Also, soaking my dry rocks for 3 days minimum to remove all the phosphate :p
Hopefully, it will see water next Monday

Update 3

Started curing about 50 lb of Pukani dry rock to rid of phosphate and ammonia.

Cycling my QT tank again

Vertex Omega 150 is here

DJ Power strip to turn individual items on and off

Organized the right side of the cabinet a bit, added a motion sensor led light to sump area but only received 1 of 2 reactors so I will have to wait until Monday to finish plumbing

Today I went to check on the dry rocks I've been soaking for 4 days and for my surprise these dry pukani rocks not only leach phosphate but caused a massive ammonia spike. I've always used BRS reef saver in the past and they didn't cause ammonia spike. I took them out and put on my tank to see how they will look and then soaked them back in new saltwater mix and added bio spira to speed up the curing process. Here's a picture of before and after.
Also, plumbing is almost ready, just missing a couple 45 elbows to finish the job
