A360we Tuna blue - wiping out power bricks

Anyone experience this? I came down and one of my 5 360we's were off. I swapped to the brick to the right and then that one stopped working. I took that working light and tried a different working brick, light works. Plug back into the brick it was in but the broken 360 seemed to zap and sure enough, the good light doesn't turn on. So I again swap the bad light to another working brick and thta one goes too.

Anyone experience this?? I now have a broken 360we that zaps bricks, 3 broken bricks, and only two functional lights - ordered two new bricks. Ugh.
 
My best guess is that there is a short in the light which puts too much load on the power supply and causes it to blow up.
If your light is out of warranty, let me know, I might be able to fix it for you.

That's my thoughts too. If you have a guide I'd love to give it a go myself. If I fubar it I'm happy to send it out. What do you typically do to repair it?

There, I have a Kessil playlist. I don't have a video on this specific issue, but the troubleshooting concepts should be similar
 
Diode issue. Likely a shorted Mosfet or diode. They have pretty simple circuitry. Ohm it out and verify you have high resistance on the power cable. If it's low or shorted it's definitely a fet blown.

Side note... Thought most modern switching power supplies had built in short protection?

Ohm the power connector on the light. Check for resistance between power and ground

Great channel! I watched your "Rapidly Flashing" video - I have an A360 with the same symptoms and it is a blown MOSFET, which I've now removed. Do you know what a suitable replacement part # is?

Post a picture of the Mosfet I'll send a link to a replacement. I'd also go with a leaded solder so the melting tends are far lower. Let's you flow it in with less heat and saves other components and the fet from heat degradation causing it to fail

(Excuse photo quality.) It's Q2 on the board. I'm guessing a 20 Volt N channel MOSFET is what's needed?
 
Where is the face side. I need the numbers. Drain, gate voltage matters and current.
 
Can I hijack a little and ask about a A160 that one side of the matrix suddenly went out on? Is that something that can be reasonably repaired? I assumed it was trashed.

I can make my own thread if there is anything to discuss.

Kessils are simple. One mosfet driver per channel. If you have one dead channel you have a dead mosfet or led array
 
No markings. If there were, I could figure it out myself :)
They are coated with silicone. I used to have the pn wrote down. I don't recall it off hand. Scrape the silicone off the top

You're right ... I hadn't scraped off enough of the conformal coating! Looks to me like 440N10N HAH45? What do you think?
