Will feeding promote growth? Also will i need to provide extra rock for it to grow onto
Feeding can help promote growth. And they'll grow out onto pretty much anything from my experience.

Sounds about right, you can feed them, but it's not required.
Hi mate my acan has been sulking its in low flow and low light i have a reefpro900 and a tmc luminare. Would you suggest moving up slighty? Also would high nitrates at 50ppm be causing it to sulk the guy in the shop said it shouldnt affect it thanks inadvance!

No3 50
Po4 0.03
Sg 1.025
Kh7.0-8.0 i add a buffer yesteday
Ca 550
Mg 1540

I dont have a ph result tho

This is more of where you should be. What brand of salt are you using? And what test kir did you use to get those values?

Sg - 1.023

Mg- between 1250 - 1300

Ca- 420

Why the low salinity? Don't you want it closer to 1.026?

Just a personal experience with me. Since I've started I've always been around .023 - .024 any my acans seemed to thrive. Never been over .024. I know most do recommend higher .025 - .026 but I started with fish only and sg @ .019 and slowly bumped up when I started corals. And found where they have been happy.

Those where tested in repuatble marine shop on saturday using all salifert test kits.

My tank was second hand and i moved the water the previous owner was dosing without testing hence the levels being a little sparadic

O yeah salt was red sea but iv been introducing tmc pro as its more accessable

Personally I would not start lowering your salinity. Keep things stable with your current salinity, 1.025-26 is perfectly fine. You lower salinity then you lower other things then you start chasing numbers. For your acans, I would keep them in a spot of low to medium light and low to moderate indirect flow. I like to feed our acans but for now I'd just let the coral acclimate to your tank and lighting. Constant intervention will cause more issues IME.

Yeah the only reason i moved in the first place was cus my crab decided it was a interesting new thing to pick at. Then i think i upset it more

Medium light, low flow, and FEED THEM. These are on the sand bed around 15" below the water. 2 Kessil A160WE at 30% color and 40% intensity 6" over the water. Acans love to be fed, and it really helps their health as well. I feed reef roids mixed up with just enough water to make a thick slurry and use a 1ml syringe to squirt it into each mouth. I use red sea blue bucket salt at 1.026sg. Ca 420 alk 8.5 mg 1300ish

I feed my acan garden Reef Gumbo and some mysis and think it helps them develop color and grow quicker. And, just remember, that whatever plug they are on/rock they are near will tend to shape their growth. I generally place mine on a flat rock so they spread out more.
