Acan Lord and chalice tissue recession

3mm3 good to know. Picking up some magnesium by Friday. I will pick up the spot feeding too. Clearly not doing that part enough! And should move that shrimp out.

Shaddow_wolf169 I will make some batches of water this weekend and see what my mag comes out to before I add them and see if it is there. I'll be switching if i cannot get a fresh batch to mix where i need it to.

Thanks for all of the help!

Definitely move the shrimp if it's harassing the coral.

Aqua Forest salt is made for their dosing system. Here is a link to the Aquaforest Product Guide. It outlines the intended use of their product. They list the methods by tank type(sps, lps, fish only). You'll notice they recommend dosing for SPS tank Component 1+, 2+, 3+, and then feed the coral with AF Energy, AF Build, AF Amino Acid, AF Vitality and the AF Power Food.

Otherwise switch to something like Red Sea, IO, Fritz, Kents, Tropic Marin, etc

I see what you are saying. I am looking into the components 1, 2, 3. I did full water tests on Friday. Did the NO3 and PO4 with red sea test kit.
NO3 0
PO4 0
Ca 380
Dkh 8.7
Mg 1320
Ph 8.3
Sal 1.025

Mg is up in what I think is the normal range, along with dKH which was definitely very low.

Even after removing the chemi pure, purigen, and turning off the skimmer, my NO3 remains at zero with 2 different test kits.

Unfortunately no, but I am still working at it. Just about to do tests to post them. still seeing recession on the acans. the one from the original picture is completely gone.

I had issues with Aquaforest Reef Salt and when I switched back to IO, all my LPS started to recover.. Not sure what was with the salt, but it was clearly something in it that affected my coral.

+1 on trying the Red Sea Coral Pro. I haven't had any issues with it. I actually have the Aquaforest 1+2+3+ But haven't started using it yet.

I have ordered the 1+2+3+ and I'll give that a week long shot before I swap..

Just tested

NO3 0
PO4 0.08
Ca 360
Dkh 7.2
Mg 1320
Ph 8.0
Sal 1.025

The skimmer has been off for a week without any purigen and chemipure. Chaeto already died out so that's not sucking any nutrients up. Not sure what is going on with my Nitrates or my corals :(

juuuuust got Salifert Ca test in mail...more likely 380 but otherwise very close.

2 clownfish, firefish, diamond goby. I feed once to twice a day, but this week I have fed twice a day every day. I feed the anemone once a week. I feed coral about 3 times a week with coral frenzy or similar.

I broadcast feed reef roids 2 times a week and then spot feed my acans baby brine shrimp, can usually get every head to eat

Feed a tad heavier, skip a water change. Just keep testing, daily if you gotta. Don't get to lax as to cause an issue.

Try feeding a flake food, as they generally contain the most phosphate.

It's only my I opinion of course, but slowly bringing those nutrients up to manageable levels will help. You could also cut back on your photo period by a few hours, or decrease intensity.

Alright I picked up the feeding yesterday and today and finally have a non zero nitrates at almost .25ppm. I'm going to keep up the heavier feeding and testing.

As for the lights, the acans are about 15" deep in the tank so i'm not sure if they would be affected negatively, although on possibly a related note, one of my acros near the top of the tank is turning from pink/blue to mostly green. I imagine this may have to do with lights?

Knocked an hour and 10% off peak intensity. Nitrates up to 1.0 this morning.
