acans, low light or high light? Show pictures too :)

New to acans, but this one seems to be happy in the low front corner of my 5g with a Kessil a80 6” above the surface. Put it in last weekend.

Anyone maintaining rainbow colours long-term with LEDs configured at a low intensity (<100 par) and with a blue violet dominant spectrum?

That’s the only way I can keep my rainbows “rainbow”. Very blue/violet and under 100 PAR.

I’ve had most of my rainbows for over a year and they have been very stable as far as color goes. Some even look better than when I initially purchased them .

I’m running a Red Sea 250 with 2 Kessil A160 running at 0% color $40% intensity with a 24” Blue XHO Reefbrite..

Most of mine are off to the sides, under overhangs, they do very well.

I would say my acans are in that par range. I also run an orphek OR120 UV bar as a supplements to my lights. My red acans are beginning to display rainbow colors. My ultra acan is displaying two new colors as well. I would imagine the change would be longterm as is seems they are morphing progressively

can diff acan colonies come into contact with one another and be ok?
