Butterflies do not ship well, unfortunately. They are especially prone to damage around mouth and gills, leading to bacterial infection.

I'm sure la will honor their guarantee.

Update 2: 2nd butterfly dead, had red sores near mouth and on body. Unreal, is this typical of liveaquaria proper? Two fish dead within 24 hours?

Not just LA/QM. There are huge disease problems at the wholesale level right now.

I was wondering. I recently ordered 9 fish and only 4 are left. I have had great luck with LA in the past. I lost the five in just a couple of days of arrival. Didn’t see anything on them. 2 of the remaining fish were yellow tangs that looked like they may have had Uronema. They’ve been in QT for about 3 weeks and so far so good (CP).

Good time to QT.

In my experience, unfortunately, yes. I've gotten a few things from them and they didn't make it past a few days. Even the hermits and snails never made it out of QT. I always buy local now.

In defense, I would say I have had huge luck with LA normally... just my last 2 orders have been a challenge... usually the fish/inverts are great! Plus they have always stood behind their guarantee.

Humblefish what would be appropriate if it's bacteria: Kanaplex, Metro, Furan-2 addition?
