Acro melting from tips down???!?!?!?!

One of my few acros is starting to die from the tips down?

All of my tank conditions are perfect!!

All of my other acros are doing GREAT
Look at my oregon tort

but this one acro is not even opened

Does any1 know why this is going on?

Sounds like alk burn... Alk will burn the tips but not sure since you say everything is in line with the params....
Are all the tips burnt??? Is it possible it got stung by something???

I'd agree with Troy. Have you been dosing carbon?

I agree, test your parameters to make sure your basic's are in line ... ALK, CA and Mag.

i have carbon in the tank, i just did a very small powder treatment for red slim algae(had a medium size patch), would that affect it?

also i realized last night only 4 of my t5ho bulbs were running so i fixed it and all 6 are running, this acro is the 2nd highest coral in the tank...could it be burning?

Looks to me like something munching on them. What do you have in the way of fish?

Wierd. Looks like alk burn a bit from that pic but hard to tell. Too much light would likely have an effect on the whole coral. It almost looks like something took a bite out of the left side.....

I have a Naso brevirostris Tang, Grade B Picasso Clown, Yellow Coris Wrasse, Green Clown Goby, and a black molly (still alive from cycling)

Is it possible a nearby neighbor coral is stinging it?

the closest coral is about 5 inches down the rocks

You may want to take a look after lights out to see if you have a hitchhiker crab (gorilla, etc) that is munching on it. They will return to the same place to eat night after night. IF that's the issue, you would likely see it with a flashlight. Very strange. Keep us posted on how things look in the AM.

what is the coral 5" below??? some lps have very long stingers!!!!! i would lean toward something munching or something stinging it... more towards a stinger from my exp.... i have frags fall and wake up to the same thing you see in the pic....
