So, I have about 24 fish in my 250......I know that fish poop is coral food and they will benefit from my fish.....

My question is, does Acro power and reef roids pretty much do the same thing as my fish poop does?

My nitrates are about 2-5 range
Phosphorous is always about 0.02-0.06

reef roids is better then fish poop.. I'm setting up a new 120g but I fed all my corals a thick paste of reef roids on my 60g and saw crazy growth when i started feeding them it.

I kinda figured this also but just wanted to hear some other opinions!

I will probably set up a schedule and do Acro power once a week and roids another day during the week....

Do you feed at night or during the day?

Do you target feed or broadcast?

I don't think there is anything better than fish poop from fish fed a very healthy diet with variety in it. There are things that can help but we would all be using these products if they were better than fish poo.

That’s a good point! Varied healthy diet for fish would definitely make great coral food with the fish poop

What is the difference anyways between acronpower (amino acid) and stuff like reef roids or reef chili?? Is one better for corals than the other?

It depends. If they corals can 1). catch it, 2). have it be the right particle size for consumption and then 3). spend less energy digesting it than they get from it, then zooplankton can be of value. There is a lot of debate on if all three of these things happen.

If they stuff just benefits the corals by eventually turning into N and P, then it is the same as fish poop. With yours in that range, they do not need any more.

I don't feed any of my corals. ...never noticed a difference when I stopped.

I have to believe that foods like reef roids have more nutritional value than already digested food (poo).

Acropower is an amino acid supplement where reef roids is a zooplankton food.

So aminos does not come from fish poop at all then right? So I only get aminos in my tank by water changes or dosing a supplement correct?

Do we know how long the aminos stay in their form before being broken down? After being broken down, they will be the same as the fish food/poo.... fats, carbon, nitrate, phosphate, etc. If you can catch them in amino form, then they might provide different value. Remember than as soon as you put them in the tank, bacteria in the water column will start to attack them and break them down... along with filtration and skimming.

I would love to see a good study on how long something like Aminos stay potent in a reef tank. I have no clue. If somebody has one, that is not from a manufacturer of the product, I would love to read it.

Not really sure but there's a noticble difference while using acropower and not using it, mostly color. I've never had any undesirable effects from using it.

But I guess my question is do I need to use it or not use it since I have a high fish bio load and if it is essentially doing the same thing as fish poop I don’t need to dose and spend money on it, but if I’m getting something extra that my fish poop doesn’t provide then I will continue to dose for sure

You don't need acropower or reef roids. Many people grow corals just fine without ever feeding. I like to feed my coral and I believe there's more you can get out of a variety of foods if used responsibly than fish poop alone. I like mixing oyster feast and reef roids and dosing acropower.
