Well, finally started to get my new cube looking good and now this...

Woke Up this morning excited to mount my new corals I picked up off a fellow reefer, and I got a jumpstart to my day! By jump start I mean I got a nice shock when I put my hand in the water!! I traced it back to my cobalt Neotherm Heater, so I ditched it.

Moving forward, I started examining the frags for fun, and it quickly turned into disappointment. AEFW! Yup, they are infested with them, and now in my tank...IT IS TOTALLY MY BAD FOR JUST THROWING THEM IN MY TANK BECAUSE IT WAS LATE. Just looking for a confirmation here... I see bite marks, AEFWs, and stressed out bases of the frags, all signs that are indicative of an infestation.

Moving forward, I am going to have to dip all Acros for weeks. Any ideas of what I should use or a plan of attack? Bayer is what i use to use in the past. Let me know what you guys think? BTW, I won't disclose the seller because I don't feel that it is right, although I did notify him.

THANKS!

They look like baby Limpets. The below picture was taken from Reefcleaners.org, hopefully this is allowed.

I have many of them in my SPS dominated 75g, they have never caused an issue for my corals. They eat algae and diatoms.

But I could be way off and my eyes are playing tricks on me today.

Do they eat sps? My frags appear to have bite marks/some messed up sides.

Just to clarify, i am not taking pictures of the the thing on the bottom of the vertical post on the plug. I am trying to capture the things at the base.

I dont think limpets go after sps but yea try to get a detailed photo of it just incase

To me it looks like stressed out, like after dipping. Maybe just place it back it and dont touch it for a while, if you just bought it, give it a little time.
I didn't dip. If it is stress than it should be ok in my tank because it is stable with a doser and apex. Thanks

Did you happen to touch acros with your fingers? I've noticed that sometimes when I handle the acros, it can rub off some of their skin/color leaving patches that look like aefw bite marks.

I usually try not to touch the acros that much. The seller did touch them a little I believe. I think it is just stress and the bugs were something else. I'll sum this up as PAOS, panicked acro owner syndrome. Overwise know as a nutcase worrying about sticks!
