can I add more live sand to a tank that has corals and fish? Over some time with WC's I have lost some of my sand

When you say live sand are you talking bag live sand?? I would just buy a bag of dry personally get more for your money. And yes you can but I would rinse it as good ad possible because it will make a dust storm regardless. Then use like a 1-2" piece of PVC and a funnel and you can dump the sand down the pipe and direct where you want it to go. Turn all flow off of course while pouring. Then I would put in new filter sock or sponge when filtration turned back on to catch the dust out of the water

+1 to the above post. You can add dry, inert sand or cured live sand but you can't add the bagged "live" sand that they sell at pet stores that has a little water in it. Not to an established tank anyways.

+1. I would go this route as it will be the simplest way of going about it

yes you can, in fact I just did this not more then a week ago. If you plan on adding a lot of sand you are probably better off using the bagged live sand then dead dry sand. if you do use dry sand I would suggest oly adding a cup at a time over the period of a few weeks to give it a chance to get a good build up of bacteria. If you add it all at once you may smother and kill your live sand. This is why I used the bagged live sand as it has a good base of bacteria in it and I wouldnt have to worry about killing my current sand bed.
