Addvice for sps system

Yes iv got some bug reluctant to use it because of the acros

I used in this sytem and everything looked better afterwards. Tons of sps, lps, clams, inverts, etc.

I just followed the instructions. Was very easy. Like u, I was skeptical and scared to use for awhile but now that have tried it would definitely use again when needed.

What about the radions ??
Will running the red and green leds be the problem here ??

I'm running my radions @ 75% with whites red and greens at 45% with all blues at 100% at 5 hours
Then all whites and reds and greens down to 12% for the rest of the photo period

Just run ab+

I think flow is your issue here though unless there’s something I’m missing.

Your tank looks sharp and clean , I'm needing a clean tank now asap lol

I think your right to but on the AB+ would you still run the reds and greens ? Iv heard the leds are great for growing algae

Clean the pumps, get a conch for your sand bed. How old is the tank, rockwork etc? What are all your parameters?
Hi paja3
The tank is 1 year running now with a new recape about 6 mouths ago due to stripping out the system coz of the dreaded flat worm , which was a hard lesson I suffed last April,
Alk is at 9dkh
Cal is at 435 ish
Mag is 1400
Potassium is 440 or under
Iv not icp in ages to be honest,
Could I have silicate or just a dirty system?

What's po4? I think I read your using GFO, if so why?

I try to keep my No3 about 5-10 ppm and po4 .06-1.2 range. Some people say Po4 .05-.08 but I noticed with my tank the corals like it a little higher. Sometimes when I feed reef roids it'll spike too .50, lol

I did have low po4 and was just feeding like crazy for months as I was battling to keep it higher than 0.02 , but after reef roids and throwing loads of fish in the system over time !! The hanna ultra low phosphorus checker at last was reading any thing from 20ppb to at its worst 80 ppb

I never see any harm to the sps so I left it and just started regular water changes, but then the algae just want go so I add gfo to suck up any silicate or excess po4 , I'm only running a tiny amount
150 ml at the moment

im gonna agree with flow. however, you said you built it yourself. you built the tank to? any chance you used to wrong silicone and its just had a slow impact on it?
Hi there yes I built the aquarium to and I used black aquarium silicon and used the injection method , I wish I could nail the problem hear , before I clean the system again

I used to use GFO and this is my opinion only. I feel it strips phosphates too quickly. I switched out too Phosphate RX and usually drop a couple drops into my skimmer cup to reduce. You don't want to reduce more than .5 per 24 hours. I'll add 3 drops wait 24 hours, then add 3 more and so on. Then again, I'm running a small tank. What's you salinity at? Good Luck.
