Aefw?

those dont look like aefw to me at all. I had them last year. NOT FUN, but I beat them. and my DIP was 1ml Bayer: 1 cup water. there is alot of anecdotal evidence of stronger=Better IMO and it worked well for me. the AEFW peeled off the coral as soon as it hit the dip. add a power head or a baster and they were goners. just have to scrape the eggs.

the aefw I saw were oval shaped and acro colored. the ones you show look like they have two tails and IMO are Planaria. they were on dead coral looking for algae.

as for the tips receding.. what is your alk at? how often are you measuring it? are you doing carbon dosing of any sort? High alk and low nutrients= tip burn.

500ml of biopellets.
.03-.06 phosphate(will test tomorrow)
7.6-7.8 alk( tested 2-3x a week)
Ph-8.1 during day/ 7.8 at nite
Temp 78-79
Lights- 350-425 par
Cal-420(will test again tomorrow)
No mag test
30gallon water change using red sea salt every 2-3 weeks

The phosphate can cause the tips too but its borderline. Alk is low in relation to ca.

Dont look likr aefw.....
Plus one on the parameters. Check the alk, cal, and mag asap!
In my frag tank i have about 100 acro frags and they ise quite a bit of alk and cal up. So your 40+ may be too.
Like ronnie said, if you hve low mag, your alk and cal could be dropping fast after ypu add it, causing an alk swing.

Params as of 5:00pm today
Alk-136/7.616(a little low) last test was july 14- 138/7.728. Still trying to find that magic amount of mrs wages.
Temp-78.1
Salinty-35ppt
Phos-.04

Those aren't AEFW. Too dark and wrong shape.

+1 ... The only way AEFW is visible is when you're dipping the coral and they come off. They are referred to as "ghost" flatworms because of their paleness and are virtually impossible to spot on a coral.
As far as the tips go, could be from the dip but also check your alkalinity and or mag.

They are opaque and take on the color of the coral. This makes them very, very difficult to spot on the coral. Eggs are easy to find.
