I saw a video of a guy lasering aipstasia away. It seemed to work very well. Here the video of him explaining the laser and getting the aipstasia with it.

The one he has in the video seemed to burn them quick. He burned off their tentacles so they can't feed, which they become very unhappy, and they die. Idk,it seemed to work well for him. And he said he saw no sign of them spreading.I bought one of those off ebay and I'm a little disappointed and also concerned about using them to kill aptasias.
Everything I've read about aptasias, is that when they are under attack, they send off little pieces of themselves.
As in more aptasias?
If the laser were to completely cover and destroy right away, then maybe it would work.
But it takes minutes to reduce one to nothing.
Good idea, I like the matted filefish too. He just seemed to have a good time burning them off.ive tried that its ok but like mfinn said they will just come back and infest your tank The best way ive found to eliminate completely is to gab a couple of peppermint shrimp at my local Reef store carries them all the time i think i pay like $15 or $20 for 3 they will consume all of them and if any mange to re spawn

I don't think anything is 100% good and no bad but I think I would try the matted filefish first then try the laser.
I wonder if the laser would hurt an acrylic tank? Melt it or burn it.
I've had peppermint shrimp work once out of 3 different trys.ive tried that its ok but like mfinn said they will just come back and infest your tank The best way ive found to eliminate completely is to gab a couple of peppermint shrimp at my local Reef store carries them all the time i think i pay like $15 or $20 for 3 they will consume all of them and if any mange to re spawn
That's awesome, might melt the whole tank. Lolor just get a big enough laser and make sure u get'em in one shot and if you don't kill everything in tank ha-ha

Idk, in guy just said it have an spots on the glass. He had 3/4" glass. I would think acrylic would be more of a problem.Might be a stupid question, but do you think the laser can weaken the glass in any way?
Controlling zoas? Frag them. LolMore interested in controlling zoanthids![]()
First, aren't zoa's toxic? I wouldn't kill em in tank. Idk.Lol do you want them?
