I saw a video of a guy lasering aipstasia away. It seemed to work very well. Here the video of him explaining the laser and getting the aipstasia with it.

I bought one of those off ebay and I'm a little disappointed and also concerned about using them to kill aptasias.
Everything I've read about aptasias, is that when they are under attack, they send off little pieces of themselves.
As in more aptasias?

If the laser were to completely cover and destroy right away, then maybe it would work.
But it takes minutes to reduce one to nothing.

The one he has in the video seemed to burn them quick. He burned off their tentacles so they can't feed, which they become very unhappy, and they die. Idk,it seemed to work well for him. And he said he saw no sign of them spreading.
I don't think anything is 100% good and no bad but I think I would try the matted filefish first then try the laser.
I wonder if the laser would hurt an acrylic tank? Melt it or burn it.

ive tried that its ok but like mfinn said they will just come back and infest your tank The best way ive found to eliminate completely is to gab a couple of peppermint shrimp at my local Reef store carries them all the time i think i pay like $15 or $20 for 3 they will consume all of them and if any mange to re spawn

Good idea, I like the matted filefish too. He just seemed to have a good time burning them off.

For the most part he was going after majanos. They supposedly don't spread like aptasias.
Only at the end did he go after a aptasia

I've had peppermint shrimp work once out of 3 different trys.
I think it also has to do with how much you feed your tank with them.

or just get a big enough laser and make sure u get'em in one shot and if you don't kill everything in tank ha-ha

It is called a matted file fish. Works better then anything else I have tried

Might be a stupid question, but do you think the laser can weaken the glass in any way?

Lol do you want them?
I have hundreds of eagle eye's taking over.
no way to frag them as they are on my main center rock.
nuke the suckers!!

First, aren't zoa's toxic? I wouldn't kill em in tank. Idk.
Haven't started my tank yet. I am here gathering information first.
What you do is frag them, try to trade them at the lfs. Post some on here, see if anyone wants to buy/trade. That's you wouldn't mind shipping or local pickup.
