Aiptasia

Peppermint shrimps are probably the most cost effective way to get rid of aptasia. But after the peppermint shrimps finished off the aptasia it went after my acans. Berghia nudibranches but expensive. Copperband butterfly hit or miss with this one.

My peppermint gets frozen brine shrimp to substitute for aiptasia's but I'm going to get him some friends.

I keep reading people saying berghia... Have you guys actually tried them? In my experience they never fully suppress the aiptasia. I purchased 15 for way too much money... I waited a long time for results... I got a brief period of results... My problem came back full strength.. Berghia are not aiptasia killing navy seals, they are not aiptasia nukeing smart bombs... They do eat aiptasia, but in my experience would need to be added annually. If someone has a different experience please share.

I added a filefish to my tank for my aipstasia problem and he wiped them out in a couple if weeks. At first thought he wasn't eating them then one morning they were gone and haven't seen one since.

I think adding too many might actually be detrimental, since they'll starve out faster.

I went through an Aptasia phase a few years ago and tried everything to the point of considering getting rid of my tank. I didn't try Peppermint Shrimp because so many people said it was hit and miss. Finally brought a few home from the LFS as a last resort. 3 days later it was completely solved. I had amazing results with those little guy's.
