Aiptisa?

Both are hit or miss. I have so many aiptasia, I really can't tell if my file fish is working on them or not. I have not saw it eat one yet. I have aiptasia that are as big as 50 cents pieces. Mine is just a little dude. I will give it some more time, it's been in the tank for two months now.

I find I don't fully trust the Matted File Fish. Most of them work great at controlling Aptasia but some just don't want to touch them. Some start out great but end up being coral nippers. You can probably cut down on the coral biters a little by upping feeding but that will just mean they eat less Aptasia. I find the Aptasia X from red sea like Desmond mentions works great for me.

+many on the matted file fish (aka aiptasia eating file fish). I have one that cleaned out dozens of aiptasia in a 24g nanocube and then did the same in my 75 g reef. Better yet, it also eats pellets and does not seem to bother any corals that I have seen.

My green filefish did the job for me in my 20g that was packed with aptasia but they do take they're time. Imo if you get one don't feed the tank as much and let him hunt for food that's what I did when I see that he was not eating them fast.

So file fish is the best way not peppermint shrimp?
Be very careful with filefish as they may nip at coral and once on coral it will eat any corals it cld so be wary of them peppermint shrimp may be your best natural bet but again it's a gamble some do some don't as for non natural remedies there are a variety of additives such as aptasia x but u can also try a mechanical way such as lasers that burn the aptasia anemone threw the glass so no worries abt tearing apart the aquascape but this is a one by one process which is somewhat impractical for an infestation
