Alcalinity

Thanks for the answers, I am using foundation pro multi test kit from Red Sea. My alcalinity is 12.3 dkh. I get my water through a store where they said that that water alcalinity is between 8.5 and 9 dkh. Adding bacteria and iodine one time per week. And feeding the fishes one time daily, feeding the corals one time weekly with reef-roids. Please find pictures attached about the products...
I would agree to MAKE your own water with their "Freshwater" especially if you do not have a TDS kit for your own water coming from the city/municipality you live in...numbers vary depending on the types of plumbing coming into your house...therefore you can control and actually know what your numbers are. Also, I would recommend getting a digital test kit. If the Trident is out of the price range, probably look into getting the Hanna Test kits for ALK or the three major components (ALK, MAG and CAL)...

My alcalinity too high. I’ve fighting for months to lower the alcalinity, water chances, not adding anything to the tank. And nothing work, I have soft Coral (not much) few fishes and that it. The tank has 5 years old but last year I started to try the corals grow( no success). Can some body provide me a simple way to low the alcalinity?
Ideally . you want to seize adding any alk until you reach safe range of 8-9. RO units have gotten so cheap that there is a quick recovery in your investment versus purchasing RO water.
