Well the sock holder but yes essentially. This would only work if you decided to stop using socks as having the pipe inside the sock would make changing them rather difficult.

You could also look into filter canisters. There are a couple companies that are making canisters that drop into sock locations and can be left empty for noise control or have media added as desired. I don't know anything about the following product specifically, but it's the same style as I'm talking about.

Looked at this and people are saying it doesn't fit correctly so I probably won't try this but thank you for your opinion. I will keep my sump now as is. I took out my filter socks and raised the water level in the first chamber where the socks go and it makes noise but should be fine.

Interesting info here. Does uv have any effect on pod life/reproduction?

I believe that UV will kill pods so I have turned off my UV for now

Hey Alexreefer, how is your tank/pod population doing?

I wanted to add that while I said my tank populated with Tigger pods, I think I was wrong, they are a smaller species than Tigger pods and they cling to the glass and surfaces more than Tigger pods do.

At night i see them everywhere. I definitely see a lot more than before
