Algae free glass

Any problems with glass scratching?
Yes, depending on your tank and the brand. Mag floats scratch my tanks, even when brand new.

Now I just use a green kitchen pad stuck on my magfloat for the daily routine and a Tunze scraper for the coralline and algae. But even this one I don’t fully trust so I only use it sparingly.

Any problems with glass scratching?
Possibly if sand gets between the magnet and the glass, and if you're using a metal blade, check it occasionally to make sure it's not bent... Pretty much the same as a stick scraper.

I use both... The magnet ones are excellent for removing the algae film before it becomes encrusted, but the others are better for adding more force to the tough spots.

Best light schedule and products for algae free glass
I direct flow towards my tank glass for gyre effect and seems to be most effective in keep algae film off glass, at least prolonged

I am super against flippers and would recommend tunze care algae cleaners instead. I used a flipper and it scratched my brand new mr aqua 25g. I know for certain there was not any sand trapped in between. Anecdotally i know other people on the forums have had similar issues. Never heard a bad thing against tunze.
