Hey guys, over the past couple days I have noticed a weird dark green algae and a diatom bloom. I think I was probably feeding a little too much- my clownfish always acts like he's hungry. Haha.

Anyway, I'm going to slack off on feeding, I'm going to reduce the lights for a while and I did a 25% water change today.

Does anyone know what the dark green is? I tried to suction it off while doing the water change but it seems to be stuck on pretty good.

0 ammonia
0 nitrites
8-8.2 ph
10-20 nitrates

I've got a clownfish, 1 blue-legged hermit, 1 dwarf zebra hermit and 1 nassarius snail in the tank.

Any advice on other cleanup crew that might be able to help out?
Otherwise I'll up my water changes for a while.

How new is the tank.Is that live rock or dry rock you started tank with.

It's normal, very common in new tanks. Will eventually fade, and turn to coralline.

Meantime, a couple of Trochus, Astraea, Nassarius or Cerith snails may enjoy snacking on it . . . (The Nassarius will probably lay little white eggs on your glass, though ... )

The tank is "newly transferred."
I removed the old sandbed and replaced with new live sand. The rock was moved over from the FOWLR -!before that was in there for months. So I assume that what caused it, but is there a critter I can add that will help keep it under control?
Or just up water changes?
