Okay .. good to know .. do you think I should get a protein skimmer. It is very difficult to find one for a 14 gal biocube

Our first tank was much larger -- 16G biocube -- and we made it fine without a skimmer. Hardest part was just keeping temps and salinity stable during water changes. The small volume means there is not much dilution for one's mistakes. And we made a few mistakes along the way. Go slow and remain diligent and it will all be fine.

yeah i make my own water rodi and salt and i test and retest and retest the water i made the night before for like an hour span before i actual do the water change. i am thinking about getting a heat for the winter in south fl it water temp stays between 77 - 80 for most of the year. i have turn off all lights except blues and uv .. and even turned down the intensity of them
