Can anyone identify this red stringy algae. Also how do get rid of it? Thanks in advance.

I'm honestly not sure. It looks like you have a few different types going on. I see some green hair algae in spots but some of the areas you've circled looks like coralline.

Pics are fuzzy but may be chrysophytes. With this, you will have to remove rock and place in a container of tank water and use a firm toothbrush and scrub it off
Return rock to tank, increase flow slightly and cleaners such as chiton snails, ninja star snails, pitho crabs and carribean blue leg hermits will help with control

Better picture with whites

Looks like some cyano with a little gha mixed in.

Is that area lower flow? If so, that could be part of the issue. Between low flow, excessive nutrients and if it is a new tank, it is normal. One way to tell is to try and blow it off with a turky baster. If it blows off easily and is sort of a mat, then more than likely cyano.

You can siphon it out to remove and eventually the tank should stabilize. Also, if nutrients are high (NO3 and PO4), reducing them some will help.

Nitrates are 2.4 and po4 is .03 it is low flow it doesn’t blow off or scrub off with a toothbrush. it’s tuff thick strands. Tanks been up for 4 years.

Thats not bad at all. Although, the over all numbers are proably a tad higher, but the algae is consuming it before you can measure it.

As for blow off, I was referring to the red stuff only. Does that blow off the algae? If so, what color is the algae once it blows off.

If it does not blow off, it could be a type of red turf or something similar.

It does not blow off. It’s definitely some type of red turf. I just don’t know what it is or how to beat it back. It’s very very slow growing.

Scroll down to Gelinium, Red Wiry Turf Algae and compare the pic to what you have. If it is this, they also list what eats it.

Gelidium maybe? have a look at this:
