Algae Identification

Yes it comes of real easy on the windows. Taking a closer look. I noticed Small bubble algae also. I removed a few big ones a week ago and i made sure it didnt burst open. Seems to be coming back
also on the sand. Last week i added a 10 gallon sump because i had a kalk overdose. So i did 5 water changes in one week. Ever since then i had this algae outbreak. Idk why if my parameters are really good.
oh i forgot to mention before all of this happened. I added 20 lbs of live rock to the tank from a friend of mines and i removed my HOB cpr Refugium to replace with a bigger sump. i swapped out the old miracle mud and added new sand and mud to the new sump. So that added extra water volume also. should i add some Bio-spira?

Cyano is caused by silicates in your water, probably something you haven't tested for. I've never had to deal with cyano, but have heard success from people using chemi clean. Apparently it works wonders on the stuff. How old are your bulbs? Make sure there isn't any natural light on the tank. That can cause a lot of algae issues.

which one? and how much do i need for 55 Gal?
Idk you'll have to research it. like I said I've never used it.
I think this algae outbreak came from the new rocks i added a couple weeks ago. looks like its the main source of the hair algae. Even spread to my sump. What would you guys suggest? remove all rocks completely or remove everything scrub them down individually before water change? or leave it alone and add chemiclean? by using RO water i thought this wouldnt happen

No, silicates cause diatoms, not cyano.

Without a DI cartridge, there still could be quite a bit of undesirable stuff making it into your water.
RODI. I work at a Dialysis Facility with a stage 6 system constantly calibrated and maintained. So i get an unlimited amounts of ROwater. My tank was thriving really good until I had these series of events

Typically, it's new plastic which leach them. Eventually they'll leach completely out of plastic.
It's also possible to get them from the make-up water, depending on what the municipality is using to treat the water supply. And only a dedicated silica-DI cartridge will catch those.

So why do new tanks always have a diatom bloom?
Sorry to hijack your thread OP.
But adding new rock, the algae could be diatoms not cyano.

If it is diatoms due to the new rock, I'd just let it play itself out. If it's cyano, then cut back on nutrients and increase water changes. Maybe look into chemi clean more if it worsens

If they're diatoms, yes. Any new plastic added to the tank can cause their appearance.
Simply excess silicates; almost guaranteed in a new tank.
Time. Once the silicates are consumed by the diatoms, the diatoms will be no more.
