750€ with 6-9 day shipping and free X brackets.. hope these will be good..

They will be mounted in a giesemann stellar 4x 80w t5 .. 70" fixture..

Tank is 6.5 feet long 27.5 inch front to back and 27.5 inch waterheigt..

Ditching 4 coralcares and 2 or3 blue plusses

Yeah, I’ll start a thread tonight. Had one ATO come in broken but everything else was in good condition.

Both tanks are built, one is being filled with ro water. Quality and condition is 1:1. When the thread is started ill post it here. My favorite part is there are no distracting logos.

i asked them for the tanks,
but shipping for 1 kinda broke the deal, locally (im in Netherlands, europe) with tax / import fee and shipping im looking at the exact same price i have to pay for a similar size redsea tank (200xl) that kinda broke the deal for me.. my chinese representative is SUPER helpfull by the way.. best customer service i had in a LOOONG time!

the x30 blue are very similar.. only the colour channels are taken out and replaced by blue.. but the leds itself and the controller are the same.. biggest difference is the power supply, but thats easily changed, and also overlooked a lot..

people want to go with the meanwell psu, wich is great, but theres also dc-dc converters in the light itself that are far more important to get right..

yeah im not planning on using it over 60% intensity to be honest..
i have an edge to edge solution at the moment with my 4 coralcares mounted side to side over the whole length of the tank.. those are 170w a pop, but the white being to super ugly, i only use that at 35%.. making it effectively a 100w light, dialed down to about 80 watt nett draw.. and those have a diffusion panel...

the t5 compared to the 100w blue beams (wich are actually 75w) will be similar.. so i HOPE i can run these on low intensity, they give me the pop i so badly want, and not make a HUGE amount of fan noise..

i beleive my shipment is ready for delivery in about a week.. will keep everybody up to date..

final pricing came out at 785 USD for 4 pieces including super fast ups shipping, for the lights+x bracket (alibaba from funk.. something with funktechnic,, rep: hannah liu)

Just get the noopsyche k7 if u want someonething less powerfull if u can handle the shimmer.. thats the main reason i ordere a8.. the shimmer om the k7 is quite intens, i always ran t5, now coralcares, so naturally im not a shimmery led kinda guy..

There are xr15 knockoffs or inspired versions. Seatorch made the lm15 or lm20, thats as close as u can now get to an xr15

It kind of sucks. The Seatorch LM15 is the only XR15-ish option, and they are (relatively) expensive. Nice lights, though.

If the A8se/A8s/A8Pro people did an XR15 knock-off, it'd probably sell like hotcakes.

Chihiros also makes an XR15 class light that's pretty nice, and the app looks a lot more polished than the A8 lights. But it's also real money.

Could someone please share a video using these lights? Much difference beetween A8SE an A8? I've read the whole topic. The lens are necessary in the A8SE version?

A8S uses China LED chips, A8SE uses CREE LED chips, A8 Pro uses CREE chips and the new G6 layout and 8 channel control. The biggest difference is China LED or CREE ships.

Lens really depends on the tank, how you mount it, and how many light fixtures you have over your tank. I have 2 over a 4ft tank mounted 8inches above the water and it barely provided enough par for SPS at almost 100%. Swapping it with Ecotech's lenses for the G5/G6 helped direct more of the light into the tank instead of wasted (~120 degrees vs ~70 degrees). I was able to turn down the intensity of the lights to 60% as well which helps save on energy.

At the 380 point u are better of getting a real xr15
Or just get the a8 in whatever flavour u want and dim it down… i certainly dont need 4 but for the price of less than 200usd each.. its good for the spread

Also seatorch just uses a slightly altered version of the same aipai app so the controller will be the same..
