All acros turning green

At one time, I had two pc rainbow frags at two different par levels in my tank. I had a small frag at 400 par and a larger frag at 200 par. The small frag was green at high par until it started getting bigger. The bigger frag stayed red at lower par.

My LFS uses the same led light that I use (hydra 26HD). I asked him, today, why my pc rainbow when from red to green. He said it needs more light, that he had this issue before. I moved it up a few inches, will report back if I have any success.

Following along. Let us know how it goes!

I have some newer (2 mn) acro frags that have also turned green. I've been ramping the light (LED) up slowly since I've got them to see if they will change. They are at about 300 par now. I was going to give them a month there and see how they do.

Upgraded to a Red Sea reefer 170. It’s a 2.5 times water volume upgrade.

Did you ever end up coming to any sort of conclusion or idea? Too much light? Too little? Too much blue LED?

I have a strong feeling it’s spectrum. If your water is on point and not swinging I feel tuning your bands would help, are you using your eyes to tune your light? Upload a file for basic growth then tune accordingly. To many options with LED’s.
I use supplement LED and gas bulb for main power and spectrum reliability... unless you look you dont know if a diode has failed really, so prefer bulb life.

Has anything come from this testing as I’m very interested in your results?

Green has been a "recovery" color for many of my SPS, especially ones that are supposed to have yellow in them. I have an acro that I was thought dead and would have removed it except it was so encrusted I couldn't so I just broke all the branches off. To my surprise a few weeks ago I walked by the tank and saw a large green spot. The encrusted area was still alive and turned bright green. Now the center of the green is starting to get some blue in it.

Keep your parameters stable and in range and I bet you will see some new colors down the road.

I have a eflo frag during transfer I thought I lost also, the encrust and a slight sliver up has a green hue but polyps are not visible at all ever oddly like bailout happened.

Picture is for reference with no polyp but zoozanthilia

Hello did you find a solution? I have the same issue with radion 5G+T5 all Yellow and pink corals systematickely turn green.. I use ab+ Mode Corals get between 250-350 PAR.I suspect the UV

I think it is still a mystery, but many led user have the problem,so probably it has something to do with the leds
