All acros turning green

If I read right your corals were pale due to low nutrients. I have had the same issue with similar green colorations post normalizing nutrient lvls. In my experience the corals go through this green out period and then the true colors are starting to come out again. I would wait and don not change too many things at once and really shock the corals. Change 1 thing if you are going to change something then wait at least a week.

@ikolbaba06 How long have you seen this green period?
Have you ever experienced anything go blue/green in this period?

I'm still working on the coloration but I'm just happy they are not pale! I'd say the one Millie that totally paled out then went metallic green, even the polyps, has taken close to 3-4 weeks and it's now changing to a peach red color. It came in as a lighter red mariculture piece. The bright red with blue tips Millie I have also from mariculture has been pale brown color but is starting to show green tints so I'm really happy so far. I use 2-ap700 over my tank, 120 gallon. I had it at 50% at 8 inches above water line but got new Frags and it's at 35% now. Also anothercolony that came in green has remained green but growth tips are yellow/orange so I'm curious to see what's going to happen.

Nothing blue yet. Just a super bright metallic green and polyps the same color. Then new growth is changing and starting to grow down the branch. I will try and get a pic once I get home tonight.

Sorry for the multiple posts but to help with the iron dosing thing. I have used the Red Sea coral colors iron supplement but I don't use it often and I feel that the green came before ineven started the dosing again. Not sure if leds and the low nutrients changing to more normal nutrient load causes this color change. I did not have this issue with mh but I never chased the nutrients like I was doing with these leds.

Nothing wrong with green sps as long as they're healthy and shows signs of health or growth. The coloration will slowly come in on the eventual frag or on the new growth tips.

PC rainbow will show signs of green when there's not enough light, but as you give it more light, it loses the green and picks up a more mustard yellow hue. It will lose that as well and go a pretty uniform red if you give it enough light.

This one refused to grow and color up for awhile. The new growth tips has changed and the colors are bleeding back to the base where the pink tips are showing.

Another piece where the base colors as well as the new tips are transitioning.

Here's another piece that I'm waiting on. From brown to its present green coloration. It's encrusted over the epoxy at this point and not changing a thing with it similar to the pieces above. Just waiting for them to settle in and do their thing.

Nice corals! And love your comments, patience is key.

This is the millie I was talking about that is turning pink from the metallic green. The efflo was pale tan color but had now almost completely changed to this green color with some blue and purple highlights. I am very excited for this coral to color up.

If you zoom in on this pic you can see the green color starting to show up. This was my other milli I spoke of earlier.

@Ibn that's exactly what I tell people -- Your post with photo evidence is potentially one of the top comments I've seen on the forums. It's simple, easy to understand, with photographic evidence. So often I'll get a frag that's ugly, or once in awhile, make a coral unhappy and ugly.. Then it'll just sit there for a bit, looking ugly, while new growth starts coming in with vivid color, while the bulk of the coral remains meh. This is a great example of what I try and explain.

In other news, that's a whole lot of growth in your PC Rainbow. Looks great!

My ro is around 3tds and then 0tds after the di resin.

I've been dosing nitrates for up to 3 months now with this go around. All but one frag started colored up nicely.

The first few bleached despite me starting them on the bottom, and in acclimation mode on my lights. They then turned green after a month on the bottom. They have been returned to the rocks and have kept their green color.

A few others started colored up and then turned green without paling.

A PC Rainbow started out nearly white with a touch of brown and then turned bright green.

My montiporas all kept their color.

A single millepora, an ASD rainbow, hasn't lost its color, but did give up the PE after two weeks. It's lost a bit of green and is now more orange.

Zooxanthellae once bleached can change there pigments. So usally a radical shange will do it. I have multi tanks so I’ll move 1 that’s ALK IS 9 and 8.2 ph and normal calcium and all. And it’ll change over 3 weeks so I add it back after it’s settled and rejump the zoo I feel. Actnic bulbs excite Zooxanthellae.

Seeing all the talks I’d say let ur PO4 raise. I’m at .5 and love it alittle dirty from roids. What’s salt are u using. I use fritz

Reef Crystals. I dose phosphates every few days, trying to keep them around 0.04ppm, until I see an increase in brown slime stuff, then I back off.

That’s crazy. Is ur flow high? And I don’t mean spots I mean ur whole tank gets nice movement all the way 2 the sand? I’d adjust ur heads and see if anything changes. I have mine just crossing so there’s a swirl point and makes turbulent water for anything crossing it’s path but makes for a nice gyre but not constant so it’s like the ocean. Idk how many heads u have. I have 3 and a 4th planned

I've got one mp10 running 100% reef crest mode in my 17g bare bottom. I'd hope that's enough flow.

I do have a filter guard on since I've got a rbta in the tank as well, so maybe that is restricting flow?

I'm a plus 1 for a Triton test
Also in my earlier days of LPS only when I dose to much iodine, my dragon soul favia turns from deep purple to solid green.

IMO it is a safe colour. Sps usually turn this colour from being fragged, entering a new environment or after damage for what ever reason.

Now it's been a colour months and they have had time has the green colour started to change back to an original colour?

Are you sure they are really green? You have all LED which is very heavy in the blue, and green shows up best under blue. Unless you have a good white source then a lot of acros will tend to look greenish. Many will see this as an anti-LED post but it's not, you just have to understand that it's more difficult to get good color in acros with LED, especially when you can adjust the spectrum at will. It can be done, some folks have fantastic tanks under all LED, but it not as easy as slapping a T5 bulb over top.

It might be nice if someone with the same light and good acro color could post their settings so you can mimic them. Make any changes slowly since you can see time and stability tends to cure all issues. :)

My LFS uses the same led light that I use (hydra 26HD). I asked him, today, why my pc rainbow when from red to green. He said it needs more light, that he had this issue before. I moved it up a few inches, will report back if I have any success.
