All for reef doseing question

Cut it in half of recommended. I too find this solution very potent. Also add to sump- Not direct to tank
Agreed. Switching from BRS two part to AFR was a task. I think it was mainly because of the time delay of the AFR coming into solution to be tested. And definitely add to sump. I have mine dose directly above a small Tunze in my return chamber.

My tank is a aio I am adding it to my return chamber

AFR is balanced. So it’s in the proportions that keeps alk, calc and mg stable. The corals use them at the same rate. So when you dose AFR the values stay in the same ratio.

lol ... my mostly gonipora and mushroom corals with a couple hammers do NOT use them at the same rate... Instead my corals consume alk much much more, magnesium more, and calcium very little...

AFR is balanced. It’s meant to have ratios of all the major and minor elements that corals use. So in theory you can’t actually overdose AFR in terms of one element per se.

Disagree and feel that statement could be very misleading for new people... Different corals uptake differently and depending what someone has in their tank, yes it could

Is 5 ml enough for 65 gallon tank before rock…can u overdose trace elements? I only have like 25 frags in the tank right now lps zoas gsp
If your mag, calc and alk are low, I would try upping the dose very slowly and monitoring. Every tank is different, it depends on what your corals are consuming.

My tank is about 65 gallons of water also, and has about 15 frags. It’s a new tank, 3 months old. I started dosing 5 ml per day when my mag and calcium started dropping. With 5 ml, the alk was getting a little too high for my taste so I am now testing with 3 ml per day.
