Am I just paranoid? Ich?

Even when you treat prophylactically they still come down with diseases. I don't get it! Now my fish has tail rot. Where did he get that from? Had him in DT no signs of illness until two weeks into copper.

Infections can strike at any time. YOU can be perfectly healthy, get a cut and it gets infected. Harmful bacteria is almost always present in aquarium water, as it is in the ocean. A fish's natural immune system usually keeps it at bay, but not always. o_O

I have to keep this one alive. He's the last of the bunch. He never showed any signs of illness just thought I would treat anyway. So if he was already in my DT he could still get tail rot?

It's possible. He's currently in QT with copper, right? Copper is an immunosuppressant, so that increases the odds of a secondary infection occurring. I would mix Kanaplex (an antibiotic) with the copper.

So purple is showing signs of hlle anything I can do? Everything i have read said that its more related to water quality... Should I not worry and just wait till he gets to dt and it will go away?

Purple is still eating well and blonde naso eating good too. Powder blue is not necessarily. :/ hopefully the garlic will kick in and increase his appetite

Feed live blackworms, live brine, and red nori. If the PBT ignores those it's too far gone.

It's not uncommon for zebrasoma to develop varied degrees of HLLE quickly during copper treatment. It can be mostlt reversed if done correctly the first time and you only need to treat with copper once (IE full 30 days of therapeutic levels, and one month of observation)

Shoot i wish I had a source of blackworms only lfs that sold them lost their supplier a while back... He ignores the nori I put in there at least that I'm aware of. Im hoping he's eating some when im not looking and the other fish settle down after the initial rush.

Kinda what I figured with the hlle. Hopefully recovers well once copper is done.... So far so good copper has maintained everyday so far.

Trust me on trying red nori, not green.

Live blackworms can be purchased online I do it a lot :)

Also, live brine can be purchased online or at larger LFS.

I wouldn't count on the eating when you're not around, unfortunately a week and a half or so of no obvious feeding spells sudden death. I wouldnt wait to entice with the live foods and buy red nori, friend! :)
