Should I do waterchange to take copper out first or just add prazipro. Copper level today was just barely readable on my seachem test.

No, you can just add Prazipro. You can actually mixi prazi & copper in a pinch.

If anyone cares dosed prazipro and all black spots are gone. Im gonna do another round just to make sure but I think black ich was what I was dealing with!!

Started second dose of prazipro after waterchange. Noticed that hippo showing signs of ich propper. Started to slowly raise cooper levels.

That happejed 2 days ago today lost my sailfin. [emoji22]
He was showing no signs of sickness and looksed healthy even ate this am.

Mostly white side is side I found him on. I. Doing copper now but I have only added 6 ml for a 40 gallon tank so far.

Would it be velvet if they've been in qt for 3 weeks? Nothing else has been added this is first loss

Could it be copper? My test kit is showing nothing so i think it's bad on my way to the lfs to buy salifert. Using cupramine

If the fish had been in subtherapeutic copper before you got them, then it can take up to a month for symptoms to redevelop.

I'm going with velvet as well. Unfortunately, on rare occasions you can run in to a zebrasoma that's particularly sensitive to copper. In my experience it's roughly 1/15 or so. They simply cannot handle it and deteriorate quickly. Typically over a week, not this soon. I'm guessing the velvet had already badly damaged the gills

If you get the copper up before symptoms show, you've got a good chance.

However, once the heavy breathing and other behavioral symptoms show, then you probably won't save them without a FW dip + chemical bath: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/velvet-amyloodinium-ocellatum.217570/#post-2499437

There was a time (not too long ago) when passive observation worked just fine, and I hope someday we can go back to that...

But for the time being, velvet rules.

I give myself a C grade... At least they're in and have always been in a qt tank so there's that but hey have to live and learn. Hopefully I don't loose these fish friends.
