Just to clarify ... there are no wonder bottles ...or super bacteria’s .. there are on the other hand some well know well tested products out there that can aid us in this hobby ... top tip .. if unsure about it post on here and ask first .. that way you’ll get honest advice !!

yup agree. I should've asked these questions before hand and cycle the tank the normal way like you all do. I was very new and just bought the entire setup out of excitement

I'm gonna sort of things slowly and one by one. First thing first, all those tests. I'm waiting for me API kit delivery

To put it semi seriously, if the claims on their website were true we could pack up half of this forum and go home.

I know this is probably too late .. but most on here rely more on saliferts or Red Sea test kits .. API is questionable... I’d look into it yourself / research which test kits are best .. but my advice would be too switch once you used them up ..

@Amoo I agree it's too good to be true. But lets say i get my full test kit and if all the water params are within range means I'm kinda safe right? Hoping that it will be within the range but im not sure,

Thank you, I really appreciate all your feedbacks. I mean you guys are just great. I really appreciate all your comments coz I'm learning a lot of things now. Im not sure if red sea will ship here but i'll give it a try.

Also @sam20e I want to point out that we're not making fun of you here. Most people when they walk into a business expect the business employees to be honest with them and sell them products that actually work.

Sadly, this hobby and many others are filled with businesses that are just trying to sell whatever they can to keep their doors open. Sadly for every one person who gets into saltwater and stays there's probably 5-10 that get out within the first 2 years. Most people find it's too hard because they've been fed bad advice and just can't sustain a tank and can't figure out why because the "experts" at their local store have fed them bad info all while selling them product after product.

The best advice I can give you about this hobby is to do your own research. I don't care how many of these cool little banners one of us has next to our names or what shirt somebody at a LFS is wearing, if you don't understand something or something sounds hokie, do your best to confirm it, or at least attempt to. R2R has done a lot to help new folks like yourself and keep them in the hobby, so it's good that you're here. Sadly more people don't find this place sooner than they do, which is usually when they start having problems.

IF your parameters are in range, we have other places we can start looking to help your nem. Your tank would have started creating some beneficial bacteria on it's own by now. Did you order a test for Phosphates and Nitrates or just the basic API kit?

We're also going to have to figure out what the deal with that light is.

I understand that. Whatever the comments you're giving is really helping me understand this whole thing more. So I will not consider that as a negative thing at all. To be very honest I really need expert members like yourself to point out these mistakes so we can learn from them. So first off, thank you for doing that

you have no idea how much I;m learning from R2R, so I'm really thankful

I ordered everything. The all in one pack. including Nitrates. I will get back to you on my light setup. Need to call my LFS
