Well gigs are very much prone to bacterial infection so if not treated with cipro and then qt until you're sure it's not infected then add it with other nems but too many times in the past have I had un-treated gigs infect all of my nems it's not a fun thing

I actually just set this tank up so I can try keeping a magnifica with a carpet I made it a 17 gallon tank with a 20 gallon sump so I know they will be in close proximity

When discussing anemone compatibility; are bubble tips considered reef safe? Some written information suggest avoiding anemones with corals, but some of the reef tanks on forums include both within a tank environment.
Appreciate your thoughts

Just like every coral, anything can happen. Look at chalice corals they hurt most and kill others. chalice corals also have a stronger sting than BTAs. So yes they are as reef safe as most lps if that counts

Anemones move, as such they can move onto things that either hurt the anemone or animal they move onto.

Personally over the years i've lost or had sever injuries to many of corals due to anemone movements. Including one near tank wipe out from a MP40 that an anemone crossed with. Basically resulted in a blender of anemone bits all over everything. Wiped out 70% of the livestock including the fish before I could contain and begin the healing.

So to put it mildly, reef safe..... no. With extreme caution is a better way to put it.

With that, most people have them in their reefs. Its hard to ignore the beauty of the symbiotic relation of a clown and its anemone.

Hey tanked, one thing of note.

The beaded sea is a different species to what I have which is scientifically called Heterodactyla Hemprichii. Unfortunately I do not have much if any info on this Anemone other than the truly sparse info collected on this site and now limited personal exp.

Gotcha what is you experience with the hemp and I will remove the "beaded" from the list tommorow
