Close up like this? It has done this before when lights went out. I am just nervous because i know they are known for wiping out established tanks from dying.looks like he just deflated. mine does this all the time especially after he eats. I think when they are dying they close up and mouth gapes open. Im no expert though so maybe someone more knowledgeable can add their opinion.
I owned the nem about 2 weeks I would say. It came from an established tank. My tank is just under four months by now. It has just been acting this way the past few days. I did top off my water recently.how long have you owned the nem?
how long has it been like this?
and how old is the tank
Is your clown currently hosting it? It might be a little irritated by him also. You could pull that rock out and give the nem a quick smell to see if it smells bad.[
I have the ammonia badge so i know that is good but i will check the others. He appears per the photos to be moving around. This is a good sign, but also showing he isn't happy about something, either flow, lighting or poor water quality. I would recommending checking ammonia, Nitrates and PH. BTAs are know to close, split or die under too low or high of PH. I would recommend keeping the ph around 8-8.4. They also commonly split at signs of ANY ammonia to try and saves themselves before dying.
