Came home from work and my anemone looks like this. It was fine yesterday and last night. I have no idea what is wrong with it or if this is normal. Help

So should I just let it be and see what happens? I don’t want it to kill all my coral if it’s dead lol or dying cuz I’m worried that’s what it is and I just don’t see it

Let it be. It's a bit hard to see what's going on in that photo, it looks like it's just closed up a bit, but it's also looking a bit bleached. I certainly wouldn't feed it at this moment. When nem's are closed up or irritated or looking funny, best to leave them be.

How old is the tank? What are your params, light, and flow? Also what type of nem is it? Looks like a bta, but hard to tell from the photo. It is till attached, so not likely dead, nor is it melting. Ensure your params are good and stable, your light and flow are on point and then let it be. If something is off, start to fix it, but don't be too hasty. Making big changes all at once can do more harm than good.

Tank is close to a year old and all my params are good but I’ll double check. The only thing I did that would’ve changed anything was moved the powerhead yesterday. But it has like this stringy stuff coming out of it idk if it’s using the bathroom so to speak or if it’s slowly dying

Do you have pictures of how it was prior? What light fixture are you using? Do not try to feed it, they need lighting more than food.

My light is a FluvalSea led 32 watt light a lot of people I’ve talked has actually never heard of it but that’s what they sold me at the fish store

The pic of it in a jar is when I first got it that’s what they put it in for transport

How long have you had the nem? They do weird stuff for a while when moved to a new home. Sometimes they take a while to adjust. I don't think it looks like it is dying. Your light may be less than ideal for reef keeping, which is probably why few people are familiar with it. Hard to tell specie from the pictures.

Totally agree. Nems can act weird and are also amazingly resilient. Let it get accustomed to your tank. But I wouldn’t panic yet.

I’ve had it for a few months and yea I’m looking at getting a prime sol led light come tax time hopefully that’ll help all in all. But it’s a BTA so should I be worried or give it a few days and see what happens?

Everyone is giving you advice which boils down to, "Relax" and "Anemones are weird".

The truth is that you should relax, and, anemones are really weird.

If it dies you'll know it, typically they get gooey/melt, oh, and they smell. Really, really smell. At that point, take it out.

Update. Anemone was opened up fully this morning and looked great. Thanks for helping me out

Anemones do ball up as in this case and likely squeezing to expel poop or zoanthelle

When they start to look like this is when it's time to pull them out.
