are anemones supposed to be perfect circles? or at least for the most part. i just got one and it appears to be almost 2 circles. i know they can split but not sure if thats a long or short process or if there even supposed to be symmetrical.

Anemones will split when stressed. Is this a new addition? It looks to be fairly healthy. Cannot really see if it is bleached though.

yes its a new addition and he really didnt want to pick a spot so he is deffinitly stressed and a little bleached. im not sure how quickly that takes place but he could have came that way. but it almost looks like he has 2 bulbs connected.

in my opinion your ph is slightly low
i would you some seachems 8.4
or buffer
it should be about 8.1- 8.3

well it was slightly in between colors on 8.0 and 8.2 so i imagine it is right around 8.1 but i yeah i know i gotta get it up a bit.

Before you start chasing pH levels, what are your Cal, Alk and Mag levels? All 3 will play a role in pH levels, if those are in check, I wouldn't worry too much about your pH. Plus, depending on where you live, your place could be closed up (( winter )), which could increase CO2 levels, which will lower the pH.

IMO/E chasing pH is a waste of time if your other levels are in check.

my alk is 2.5 i dont have a test for the others yet.

Do you know the unit of measure for the Alk? That is either okay, or very low.

I would get a test kit for the others before doing anything with the pH.

okay help me out here. the anemone is my first one so i havent really been testing for alk yet. i have a red sea test kit. it took me 7 drops so would that be 7kh?

2.5-4 meg/l or 7-11 dKH are normal levels, so you are at the low point of that range -- nothing to be too concerned about at this moment.

How long has your tank been set up?
What lights do you have?
What size tank?
How long have you had the anemone?
Are you using RO/DI water, or tap? (( If RO/DI, what is the TDS? ))

its a new tank just over 3 weeks. but it is fully cycled my LFS said the anemone would be fine as long as the tank was cycled. its a 125 gallon 4x2x2 with 3 white HT5, 3 blue antic HT5, and 8 moonlight leds. there on from 9 to 9 then just the leds until 12.its completely RO/DI and my tds has only just started doing 1ppm (need a refill on the DI soon). i got the anemone yesterday and had a pretty difficult time getting him to stay put but he hasnt moved sense last night. but he appeared a little bleached when i got him home from the pet store so i read online to feed them daily to help bring them back to health but when i tried that he threw it up and then deflated. its sense started to re inflate and still holding his spot.
