anemone help.

IMO/E, 3 weeks is nowhere long enough to have an anemone in a tank. Still a lot of changes going on in your tank --- still will have an algae bloom or 2.

Do you know what lights the anemone was under? Might need to acclimate it to your lights.

The anemone was under white t5s not as strong as mine for sure but it was a much shallower tank. Maybe 8 inches under the light. The anemone has pretty much puffed all the way back out now.

That was taken just a moment ago.

Sounds like the LFS person may not completely understand Tanks, parameters, and tank maturity IMO....anyone with experience in reeftanks would never sell you a nem for a 3 week old tank.

Nems are beautiful creatures, but actually one of the Hardest members of the ocean world to keep in an enclosed system. While many members have had success, many more fail by adding to quickly. Balance of parameters, flow, and lighting are the keys to a Nems survival.

Even if your flow and lighting is acceptable, 3 weeks isn't nearly enough time for the parameters to mature and balance.

The anemone is looking good now. It did go on a joy ride this morning but has found a new spot I think is much better for him than half under the ledge like he insisted on yesterday. But it's all puffed up and fanned open now.
