I was the same way but it will get better...i wouldnt worry bout that big water change with nitrates at that, but if it was ammonia, yea i would ..but nitrates are not as harmful to fish unless it gets above 100ppm.

Do you water change and then test it tomorrow see if it changed ,but i dont think it will, just watch what u feed

There are 4 bulbs. Yes they have reflectors. 2 are 10,000k and the other 2 are blue it says T5 ho? And then there are 2 LED moonlights.
It's been three weeks on the carbon.
SG/Salinity is 1.023

It should be at 1.025 --- Have been keeping S. haddonis for about 16 years now, and they seem to react poorly to anything below that level.

Are the reflectors curved around each bulb, or just one large reflector?
What brand of bulbs?

How do you know all this!!! Am I using the wrong test kit?

well its not being the wrong kit..its just how accurate the kit is..I have a really hard time matching colors, but for the range your at and not having sps/corals you will be fine with that kit.

Ok so how can I do that safely with my water change?
It looks like one piece of metal for the reflector but it curves around each bulb.

If you water is at 20ppm and you talk out half and add freshly mixed salt water back, then you're at 10ppm. Just math.

Can anybody please ID this anemone? Its blue-green and has hints of pink & orange in it also. I've had it a few years when it came on a piece of live rock I purchased. It does not duplicate and don't seem to bother anything. It's about 3 to 4 inches wide.
