The anemone feeding have absolutly no effect on the nitrate. This problem occured WAY before i purchased the anemones. Here is the build thread in case you want to read. https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/zacks-65-gallon-corner-reef.296423/

As for the excess waste. I see it every once in awhile. The skunks help clean it out when it does happen. I have found though that they spawn every month. Them, the clowns, and hopefully soon the manderains. That is IF i can find a male target.

Spawning clowns is just more food for your tank unless your removing the eggs and putting them in their own tank and feeding rotters and phytoplankton.. are you breeding clowns ???

How’s your Dino’s .. did they come back at all ..? What test kit are you using too test no3 ?

Although l could. l do not have the time to breed them. Hopefully in the future.

The Dino’s went away after a 7 or 10 day blackout. l can’t remember off the top of my head. l currently do not have an algae problem.
l use both API and NYOS. Both durn the darkest of colors almost immediately.

Ok I know you said you weren’t, concerned about your nutrients in your tank ..and I noticed reading your tank thread that non of the reef squad responded or I missed their comments , but I’d like too call my fellow #reefsquad team in on this one .. !
@saltyfilmfolks
Any ideas ?

I’m not familiar with either of these , but I hear a lot of bad things over api ...

The weird part is that only one anemone seems to be effected/showing symptoms, if none of the others are showing signs of the high nitrates, would it be correct to rule that out? But I agree 160 nitrate and 2 phosphate is wayyyy to high.
Edit: saw you're from wisconsin, Howdy neighbor! :)

One thing I have learned .. if it goes bad and you don’t know why .. take it back too basic and keep it simple ..!

@crabs_mcjones can I suggest you read his build thread to get a more bigger picture !
It’s in this thread above !

My tank is similar to PaulB’s tank nutrients wise. And not that the Anemone was affected. It’s more of just something odd that went away after a short period of time. So like a behavioral problem[emoji6]

Everything looks okay.

Just a quick back on track moment. The mouth is normal as of now still.

For all the Nutrient solving people. Things are looking good in the reef. Recovering from high alkalinity so no SPS at the moment and few LPS.
